Having normal fear is different from having fear/reverence towards God. This is why it is appropriate to fear and reverence God, as it builds your relationship with Him and helps cleanse us from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit.
Here are the fears the bible describes:
1). The fear that is commanded (Acts 9:31, Hebrews 11:7)
This involves respect, honor, and reverence that we give to God. This kind of fear can obviously lead us into holiness.
2). The type of fear that is forbidden. This is similar with anxiety, apprehension, perplexity, alarm, distress, and freight. The bible forbids this type of fear amongst children of God.
Psalms 91:5-6 “Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday”.
Child of God, I decree that any fear or phobia in your life be destroyed in Jesus name.
Luke 12:32 rightly encourages us not to fear, for it is the father’s good pleasure to give us the kingdom. This is one ample reason you need to cast fear away and believe that you are untouchable.
Here are areas where fear operates:
a) Man fears failure. This can cause a once talented man to fail (Matthew 25:25). People who are afraid of failure will keep failing. A case study is one of the servants who hid the single talent that his master gave him. He did that out of fear of possible failure in making profits out of the talent. Our Lord has promised us an inevitable success in all we do (1Corinthians 15:58). It is our duty to do the best and leave the result in God’s hands.
b). Man fears the unknown future. This has practically kept some people from growing in every aspect of life.
c). Man fears responsibility. The servant in Matthew 25:25 feared the responsibility bestowed on him, and this made him to fail.
Examples of fears that makes one to do the wrong things are:
*Peter denied Jesus because of fear. – Matthew 26:69-75
* Peter became guilty of hypocrisy because of fear – Galatians 7:11-14
* Fear can keep you from standing for the truth.
* Fear has kept a lot of people in the dark. I declare that the light of God will begin to shine in your life in Jesus name.
To every believer, the word of God says FEAR NOT. This does not mean you should not honor and reverence God. Fear God and you will live your life in peace and prosperity.
I pray for you…
May the fear of the unknown be removed from your life in Jesus name, amen
